THE IMPORTANCE OF CLEAR AND CONCISE INFORMATION

A recent study found that women read product details more than men, but does it result in them picking one product over another?
Women check and use food label components more often and thoroughly than men, according to a recent study from the University of Alabama. The study found that women use the Nutrition Facts label, health claims, ingredient lists and serving sizes more frequently than men when making decisions about food products.
However, what is interesting to note is that both men and women over 50 had significantly higher rates of checking the labels and then using them - compared with younger participants in the study.
This type of study serves as a good reminder that both manufacturers and retailers need to make labels, merchandise and advertising clear, concise and easy to read so that people can make informed decisions when purchasing any type of packaged product. Source: Food Nutrition & Science.
